An up-do extraordinaire from Surrey has been crowned champion of a Bumble and Bumble Instagram competition, with her winning image going on to achieve 1,336 likes – a record for the cult hair brand’s social media page.

Jo Irving of Love Hair & Co entered the competition to find the best Bumble braid by posting an image of her creation on her Instagram page with the handle @bumbleandbumble, #bumbleandbumble #bumblebraid.

Seven days later Jo’s image was selected from 180 entrants worldwide and shared by Bumble and Bumble to its 31,000 Instagram followers and re-tweeted to its 27,000 Twitter followers.

The image was praised for being unique, organic and wearable and upon winning Jo said: “I entered just as a bit of fun, I never expected to win but it’s really spurred me on to share more of my work with the industry. Since the competition I have also gained more followers on both Instagram and Twitter and received more enquires into the courses we offer at Love Hair & Co.”

With a passion for dressing hair, Jo founded Love Hair & Co in 2006 after spotting a gap in the market for cool, creative bridal hair and makeup without all the frills and flowers.
