shaved and coloured is summer’s biggest grooming trend
Following footballer Joe Foden and Cruz Beckham bleaching their short hair, original nineties blonde icon David Beckham, has followed suit and harked back to his glory days. Taking to Instagram, David posted a picture with a blonde Romeo and pink Cruz and said, “Sometimes the boys need reminding who did it first in the 90s.” #daddiditfirst
Going Nowhere
Session stylist and owner of Joe and Co barbershop in London’s Soho, Joe Mills, says the bleached buzzcut is going nowhere. “The shaved and coloured hairstyle is summer’s biggest grooming trend and not just because it’s ideal for summer heat. We’ve come out of months of lockdown and guys want to have fun. They’ve shaved off their over-grown lengths and are colouring it blonde, pink, green or blue”.

Bleached blonde is classic and is worn by models and celebrities alike – think Zayn Malik and Pharrell – and it is particularly striking on a deeper skin tone. It should be applied clean and bright white to avoid looking yellow which doesn’t have the same effect. Adding some colour to hair has emerged as a trend for a while as men play with tones and textures.”
