Shaping Futures Captures Hearts And Minds In Scotland
Thanks to the fervent fundraising efforts of Shaping Futures devotee, fundraising and volunteer Rhys Davidson, this corporate and social initiative from Schwarzkopf Professional continues to capture hearts and minds of hairdressers and communities.
A Public Platform
Rhys Davidson brings together his professional and personal passions of hairdressing and football to create a platform for prolific fundraising that, combined with efforts from his salon cohort and fellow 2016-2017 Shaping Futures volunteer Gemma Slade has hit an overall total of £13,000 – a figure that saw them trend into the top 10 Just Giving Accounts in the UK.
In recent weeks he has drawn again upon his extensive local friends and contacts Rhys brought two football teams together, ex players from Dundee FC and Lochee United FC came together for what has become an annual Shaping Futures figure. Stepping it up again this year, Rhys, he received the support of local sponsors Invertay Homes (who contributed a massive £1,500 to the Shaping Futures work) and combined with his other dynamic fundraising activities of a fundraising dinner and dance which created a buzz in his local community. Together these events have propelled Rhys, Gemma and the team at Colourful Soul in Dundee to reach their monumental £5,300 fundraising total for 2017/2018.
Rhys commented, “Huge thanks go especially to Gemma who partnered me on previous Shaping Futures trips, but also to my broader team, the footballers and my awesome friends, clients and of course Schwarzkopf Professional for their commitment to this venture. This cause also attracted massive support and interest from Colourful Soul’s local press in Glasgow and hit the headlines of national publication, The Scotsman and STV also supported the profile building which all helped towards us hitting our incredible total.”
“We are honoured by the commitment of hairdressers like Rhys to this fantastic social initiative that changes lives, we are so grateful to Rhys for his work in supporting both the Middle Eastern and India projects, and for his continued support that helps make this work possible and we also want to thank his local community and sponsors Invertay Homes for supporting him so generously.” Commented Kay Brady, Head of Education at Schwarzkopf Professional.
