‘Q’ The Love

‘Q’ The Love
Sam Robinson

The team at Q Hair & Beauty is making good use of the time waiting for lockdown to be lifted by helping local and also very good causes, including supporting a food bank in nearby Tangmere.

Food Bank

The food bank initiative is organised by Gloria Shingler who has been supporting local families for over 25 years. The pandemic has led to a huge increase in people finding it difficult to make ends meet, understandably, so this important service is now more vital than ever before.

Drop-Off Point

Since the first Covid lockdown, a bus shelter in the village has been used as a drop-off point and this has now been turned into a permanent venue where food and other goods can be left to be sorted and distributed to families in need. Q has been eager to donate a large number of items and is continuing to do so on a regular basis co-ordinated by the groups Communications Manager, Nat Baker.

Share The Love

Dawn Lawrence, Managing Director, said ‘Since the pandemic came into force, our team have been sharing the love where we can and this particular effort, we simply wanted to help our local community through one of our Q pillars, kindness’.

Charity Initatives

The salon is also involved in doing litter picking in the community, and its recent 500 miles for £500 initiative for the Covid ward at St Richard’s hospital has exceeded its target and raised well over £600.
