Q Let The Dogs In
Q Hair and Beauty in Chichester has been running a week-long hub of doggy activity from Monday December 11 until today as the salon celebrates its partnership with assistance dog charity Canine Partners.
It’s a huge fundraising effort by Q for the Midhurst-based charity which provides disabled people all over Britain with assistance dogs who literally transform lives. Throughout the week, there have been banners and collection pots in the salon with a chalkboard in the reception area showing the target for the week which has been constantly updated as the donations flooded in. Plus, all the front-desk staff have been sporting the distinctive Canine Partners’ t-shirts.
The aim at Q was to raise enough money to name the salon’s own canine partner by helping to pay for its training. The charity has been using the Q salon in North Street as the Hub, the central location for its fundraising efforts in Chichester, with some of the wonderful assistance dogs popping in from time to time.
The Official Day
On Friday, December 15, Canine Partners’ official street collection day, the reservations area was transformed into the main collection point and the amount raised in the city being updated as the day progressed.
“Working with Canine Partners this year has been a great journey, one very close to our hearts,” said Kain Lawrence, Q’s business development director. “When the opportunity to help them raise money in Chichester arose, we knew there was a great opportunity to create a huge amount of awareness for a locally-based charity that really does change people’s lives. “The target for our week-long partnership campaign is to raise enough money to be able to name our own dog, which will be trained to the highest standard right here in West Sussex.
