Park life

Summer’s arrived and festival season is upon us, although the weather hasn’t quite caught up yet as Parklife Weekender was a rain-soaked two dayer.

The TIGI Creative Team were at the ready in the Bed Head Hair Space to make sure VIP festival go-ers still looked their best though. They were joined by partners in crime Face Addict Hair Junkie, a collective of breakthrough makeup artists from East London.

Oh Bee Hive! Dry Shampoo and Queen for a Day Volumising Spray were the perfect prescription for undone, textured boho styles, while unruly curls and lack lustre waves were given a long-lasting spring in their step with On the Rebound Curl Recall Cream.

As always Creative Director Philip Downing was on hand to give his top tips for festival hair through rain and shine as he says: “Festival hair for me is something quite nostalgic, like holiday hair. It allows you to break with your normal styling routine and promote more of a relaxed Artisan feeling – loose, textured, undone. Braids are huge again this summer but the trend has transcended: Gwen Stefani iconic braid knots from the nineties will be replicated, especially with urban youth influences coming from classic hip hop styles.”

Unsurprisingly, no one was going to let a bit of British weather get in the way of a good time. With one of the best line ups of the summer, the atmosphere was electric, with amazing performances from Rudimental, Foals and Snoop.

Meanwhile, the TIGI creative team provided the magic backstage, welcoming man-of-the-moment Sam Smith, and Rudimental songstresses’
Ella Eyre and Becky Hill to the Bed head Hair Space.

After not too long they all left looking ready to hit the stage, along with a bag full of goodies to keep them going through the rest of the festival season.

Live for the Weekender…
