Saks Chester HAIRraising Motorbike Ride

Date Added: 2010-07-27

Setting off on a journey of a lifetime, two hairdressers from Saks Chester will speed around Britain on a motorbike to raise money for John Frieda’s HAIRraising campaign.

Beginning their journey on Saturday the 7th of August at Saks Chester, owner Nikki Hughes and salon assistant Claire Edmondson, will travel to five Saks salons across the country, attending charity days and cutting hair whilst they go.

Raising money for Great Ormond Street hospital, HAIRraising aims to bring together the hairdressing community to raise £1 million towards new operating theatres at the hospital.

The pair’s first stop is Glasgow before they will head to the seaside to the Berwick-Upon-Tweed where the Saks salon is holding a charity day where the girls will cut hair for an hour before racing off to Leeds where on the Monday they will visit Saks Leeds at the David Lloyd Club. It’s then off to Leeds before heading to their final destination Saks London Academies in Covent Garden.

Whilst in London the pair will visit the Great Ormond Street Hospital and share their journey with the children there.

Saks Chester decided to take part in the challenge after a great year of achievements including being a finalist for the Sapphires Award for Team Development Training.

“I decided if I can have a successful, thriving salon at the age of 29,” says Nikki, “I can certainly do more to help other people.”
