Target New Customers Using I-Salon

Date Added: 2010-07-01

Today’s ever-changing technology can mean that if your salon doesn’t keep up to speed, it can be left behind – especially when it comes to online booking.

With the credit crunch resulting in people working longer hours it can be difficult for your clients to find the time to schedule in a hair appointment, resulting in more people than ever going online to do so.

5 years ago Clair Cadden, owner of Cube in Edinburgh, cottoned onto this growing trend and began offering an online service through their already impressive website using I-Salon’s I-Booking service.

A move that Clair felt was essential for her business:

“With the changing times it’s imperative that we offer this excellent service to our clients - it’s innovative, competitive and convenient.”

With ten stylists, a barbering section and a beauty area Cube is constantly expanding and offering the online bookings was essential for Cube to keep up with today’s trends.

It was a move that proved popular with Clair’s existing clients and even scored her some new ones:

“It’s really taken off – our clients love being able to arrange their appointments over the internet, shift workers especially rave about the service as it completely fits around their schedule. Doctors and nurses log in late in the evening when they’ve finished work.”

The service also keeps Clair and her staff on their toes:

“I can go home in the evening thinking I don’t have any appointments until late morning and then come into the salon in the morning to discover that over night someone has booked themselves into the 9am slot! It’s great and means you never take anything for granted.”

However, ditching the diary and going online isn’t as scary as it sounds. Clair used I-Salon’s I-Booking system to guide her salon through the change:

“We launched the website as soon as I took over the salon,” she says, “however, it was only once we got i-salon and started offering the online bookings that the site really took off.”

The programme also makes it easy for technophobes at both sides of the spectrum - clients and stylists:

“Clients find it really easy to book their appointments online and as for us, we found that once you have the right procedures in place i-salon is very easy to use. I would recommend it.”
