London Fashion Week - Beauty News

Date Added: 2009-02-23

The Autumn/Winter 09 Collections at London Fashion Week featured strong make-up styles and bold eighties colours.

M-A-C provided the looks for over 48 designers in London this season, with Benefit providing support to the emerging talent shows at Baden Powell House.

With the M-A-C team headed up by Terry Barbour, the looks created were both edgy and unique.

The Betty Jackson show featured blood-red lips and lined eyes. At Noir / Bllack Noir, lips were neutral, with strong, smoky eyes. Caroline Charles went for red lips with teased and rolled coifs. Paul Costelloe created statement colour eyes against pale faces and at Eun Jeong, makeup was dewy, yet barely there.

M-A-C has long history with London Fashion Week - the make-brand has had creative involvement in the shows since 1995.

"M-A-C's involvement in Fashion Week allows our Artists to exercise their craft with some of the world's most renowned makeup artists and to hone their skills in fast-paced, chaotic environments." says Gordon Espinet, Vice President of Makeup Artistry, M-A-C Cosmetics.
The make-up super brand also had a major presence in the main exhibition tent at the Natural History Museum, with a media lounge and make-up counter.

Over at the emerging stage shows the looks created were very bold. At Nico D large blocks of colour were drawn around the eyes in triangular shapes to match the model’s look. Whilst over at Jacob Kimmie the look was modern, but dramatic with plum lips and perfectly-lined eyes.
