MULTIPLE WINS
Award-winning stylist Charlotte Mensah was honoured to accept a further two accolades – in less than 48 hours!
After being entered into the Black Beauty/Sensationnel Hair Awards Hall of Fame on Sunday 27th November for winning the ‘Styling Team of the Year’ accolade a phenomenal three times, Charlotte’s hero Manketti Hair Oil was named ‘Best Product for Afro Hair’ at the marie claire Hair Awards 2017 on the morning of Tuesday 29th November.
Created to celebrate the industry, the marie claire Hair Awards 2017 held their debut ceremony at prestigious London venue The Ivy, where the winners were announced over a delicious breakfast of eggs benedict and fresh fruit salad.
The Charlotte Mensah Manketti Hair Oil, which delivers moisture, softness, definition and shine to afro, mixed-race and all curl hair types, fought off competition from a host of brands to win its third accolade since launching eight months ago. In September, the luxurious product won ‘Best Afro Hair Enhancer’ at the Best Beauty by Stylist Awards and in October it scooped Silver in the ‘Best New Ethnic Beauty Product’ category at the Pure Beauty Awards 2016.
Charlotte and her Hair Lounge salon team also celebrated their success at the Black Beauty/Sensationnel Hair Awards at the London Hilton Metropole, where they were honoured for a hat trick of Styling Team of the Year wins (2013, 2014 and 2015). The awards, which marked their 22nd year, are seen as the ultimate accolade in the afro hairdressing calendar.
And if all of the above accomplishments weren’t enough, Charlotte Mensah was also one of just 12 women to be hand-picked to appear on the front cover of leading trade title HJ. In their special November issue, which celebrated the most inspirational women in hairdressing, Charlotte was heralded as an ‘Afro Hair Trendsetter’ lauded for helping to bring Afro Hairdressing into the mainstream.
