Janine Jennings Announced as Head of Education UK & ROI for ghd
Janine Jennings has been named as ghd’s Head of Education UK & ROI. The new role will see Janine head up all creative & retail training across all aspects of the brand, bringing an aligned education message to all touch points of ghd. Janine will also be responsible for online and premium retail.
The New Role
The new role comes in Janine’s ninth year with ghd – a relationship which started with a place on the education team and which has continued to grow and develop ever since. She established herself with time spent overseas where she managed new business development for the brand in emerging markets, followed by two years in New York, where she headed up education for North America.
Upon her return to the UK in 2018, Janine moved into the retail channel, developing an education program which has since been rolled out globally. Before joining ghd, Janine’s hairdressing career started in Scotland, where she undertook her training – although she has been hairdressing since the age of 13, leaving school at 15 to work in a salon; which she ended up managing by the age of 19! On top of her role within ghd, Janine also runs an award-winning bridal business; Amour Love Bridal.
“Education has always been my passion, but it isn’t just about being creative – it’s also about providing the best training on consultation and retail, which are two of the most important parts of any hairdressing experience. I have worked with ghd for my entire hairdressing career, so it’s exciting to now be able to bring their message to an even wider audience,” says Janine.
“Within my new role, I’ll be looking after education across all channels in the business and am looking forward to bringing in lots more standardisation and consistency. At ghd, we’re all about exciting and inspiring the professional and consumer but most importantly the end goal which is recommending the right product for each client and customer. Consultation and thorough understanding of the client and their needs is key. I’m really excited to bring everything together so that we have an aligned message across the company,” continues Janine.
