Inside The Fellowship’s Afro Masterclass
Ten lucky hairstylists enjoyed the chance to get hands-on with an all-star lineup of Afro experts, in the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s recent Afro masterclass.
The evening was hosted by Junior Green at his salon in Kensington, West London. Joining Junior were Desmond Murray, Lathaniel Chambers for Avlon, Michelle Thompson from the Francesco Group and Wayne Shorter-Campbell from Errol Douglas.
What They Did
Each master was paired with two attendees, for a truly immersive, highly personal masterclass, covering all aspects of working with Afro hair types. Skills passed on from the masters included blow-drying tight, textured curls for a smooth finish, men’s hair insights, the art of braiding and cutting Afro hair.
Best Parts Of My Job
Junior Green commented: “Afro hair is my passion, and passing on that passion and knowledge to other hairdressers is one of the best parts of my job. Working with the other four Afro specialists and seeing their interpretation of various techniques was incredible. It was a great pleasure to host this inspiring workshop at my salon.”
