Create a crescent shape at the hairline from recession area to recession area, working slightly higher within the fringe on one side. This will create a shine band to frame the haircut.
Isolate, then take two further sections from the crown to ear of both sides and isolate with clips which gives a total of four sections.
Working from the nape, take alternate horizontal slices and apply colour 1 from the roots to ends until you reach the crown area.
From the crown, work with alternate back-to-back slices applying colour 1 until you reach the crescent section.
At the crescent section take half-inch slices and apply colour 2. Leave to process for up to 20 minutes.
