Adornment

“Moving on from the space buns and glitter partings of previous years, this year at Coachella the hair trend that really stood out was adornment, which is more sophisticated and expensive looking than recent festival trends. At the moment I’ve seen that girls want to wear their hair loosely, without it being too structured, so essentially creating a better version of themselves and providing a slight update on how they normally wear their hair.

Similar to trends that have been seen on the catwalks, for Coachella it was all about embracing the natural texture of each girl’s hair, maintaining movement in the hair using the ghd earth gold syler and adding adornment as the finishing touch.
From Kela Hair Charms on Jade Thirlwell and Rochelle Humes, to hair rings on Danielle Peazer and Patricia Bright, and clustered cross hatched bobbi pins on CC Clarke, each look was different and unique to that day – with the recurring theme being adornment.”

Ponytails

“Another festival hair trend spotted at Coachella on the likes of Gigi Hadid, Rochelle Humes, Danielle Peazer and CC Clarke was the pony tail. An effortless hair style that lasts all day and keeps hair off the face, the pony tail can be worn high or low, loose or tight, yet always gives a chic finish.

Embracing different hair textures and styles to give individual looks, some ponytails were full and textured, like Rochelle’s dual-textured ‘Power Pony’ which was curly and voluminous at the back yet sleek and shiny at the front, whereas others were sleek and smooth. To add height and maintain length, I created a three sectioned ponytail for Danielle Peazer, which gave the effect of one super long, high ponytail.”
