Sam Burnett and the RUSH session team were invited by L’Oréal Professionnel to style the hair for the Kansai Yamamoto show at the V&A recently.

The inspiration was shogun warriors and geisha girls but in a modern way; Japanese warrior meets Shoreditch.

Sam’s models’ hair was straightened with flat irons, brushed back using tecni.art fix design spray gel and the hair pieces pinned in place, while shards of hair with contrasting colours created a tribal aura.

One group of girls had their hair swept up into high ponys with the lengths secured in vertical loops and Tina Farey created a headpiece from flexible clear plastic shards.

Working alongside Sam and Tina were Isabella Hyde, Jamie Benny, Rebecca Counsell, Seung Ki-Baek, Judith Rabanser, Loretta Doyley, Sophie Chandler, Lisa Yallop, Frayja Tedman, Sarah Rhoades.

Creative Direction was by Beth Alderson and makeup by Pablo Rodrquez and the MAC Pro Team.
