Luke Hopkins gets styling
Joanne Charlton

In the last of our Tangle Teezer workshops with stylists, we put the brand’s Blow-Styling tools in the hands of Luke Hopkins, Stylist at The Social. Here’s what he had to say…

Tell us about yourself.
“Hi, my name is Luke and I work at The Social.”

You used a model to try out the new Tangle Teezer Blow-Styling tools. What was the look that you wanted to create?
“The look I wanted to create was an expensive, shiny smooth, glossy style – that kind of real red-carpet celebrity look.”

How did you achieve this look?
“I sectioned a diagonal around the crown and I used the smaller Round Blow-Styling hairbrush at the roots to give that extra lift, and then switched to the larger Tangle Teezer Round Tool 1_1 HRone to smooth out the mid-length to ends, paying special attention to the ends. Then I took a front section where I wanted to create that little tiny bit of movement; that delicate bend. I blow-dried it forward using the smaller Round Blow-Styling hairbrush and then voila! I flipped it to the side, kept it really undone and just smoothed it through the front.”

And from your experience what would you say about the Tangle Teezer Blow-Styling tools and their technology?
“Tangle Teezer Blow-Styling Tools are incredible. They’re exaFinishing Tool Black_4ctly the thing I’ve been looking for. I am always really put off by boar bristles and I literally haven’t bought any new brushes for about two years and then when I saw this, I was like, this is incredible; something that’s going to give me the look we want, that real professional luxe smooth finish. I don’t compromise myself!”
