Salon Business at Professional Beauty North
Professional Beauty North graced Manchester Central on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd October with the Professional Beauty North Regional Awards also taking place.
Salon Business explored all things hair at the exhibition with the addition of delving further into different beauty offerings. We managed to catch up with Semilac UK and their brand ambassador Danielle LLoyd. Here’s what she told us about her favourite nail brand.
What We Asked… Danielle Lloyd
SB:Why did you choose to become an Ambassador for Semilac UK?
DL:I’ve been an Ambassador for around 8 months and I only ever choose brands that I love. This is by far my favourite nail brand as I love the choice of colours and its just so long lasting.
SB:How long can we expect a manicure to last?
DL:Mine have lasted up to 3 weeks but my Mum’s has been around 6 weeks! It’s amazing and even stands the washing up.
SB:Which colour have you opted for today?
DL:Today I’ve selected from their new business range for a change but I am a bit fan of their cats’ eye collection.
SB:Because it’s so long lasting, is it more difficult to remove?
DL:Not at all. Like with all manicures it’s easy to get off at the salon. The great thing about Semilac is that my nails are stronger and not damaged after using it.
Professional Beauty North Regional Awards
The most outstanding spas and salons from across Britain were recognised at the weekend’s event. Hosted by Professional Beauty, the UK’s leading magazine for the beauty, nail and spa industries, and seek to recognise and celebrate spa and beauty treatment providers who go above and beyond the call of duty in terms of professionalism, skill and customer service.
Now in its second year, the awards give outstanding beauty businesses a chance to set themselves apart from the local competition and make a name for themselves on a national scale. Hosted by comedian Ian Moore, the event saw some 400 beauty professionals gather in the heart of Manchester, for an afternoon of inspiration, networking and celebration.
What Happened?
This year’s ceremony included a champagne afternoon tea, where guests had the opportunity to mingle with staff, peers, press and suppliers. With a total of 22 awards up for grabs, regional categories were divided into boutique salon (three treatment rooms or fewer), large salon (four treatment rooms or more) and spa. As well as an award on the night, winners and extra high-scoring finalists are also automatically put through to the finals of the national Professional Beauty Awards for 2018, which take place in London in February.
